Tom & Henry established Frontier & Fly with the vision of offering the most authentic and off the beaten track safaris and expeditions around Kenya.

With Tom being a 4th generation Kenyan and a childhood spent on safari, and henry bought up in the Cotswold countryside of England, they found themselves in a unique position to bridge the gap of offering safaris true to their meaning and based off of a bygone era.

After meeting at University with the same interest and passion for fishing and field sports, Tom and Henry racked their brains on how to set themselves apart in an already saturated safari industry. The result was Frontier and Fly, a safari company specialising in creating tailored fishing trips across Kenya while creating tailored safaris utilising Hemingway style mobile camps to access the most remote corners of Kenyas diverse wilderness with true authenticity

Tom Cronchey –  Co-Founder & Guide

Born and raised in Kenya, Tom’s early years were shaped by the wild landscapes and rich biodiversity of East Africa. He spent his childhood exploring remote corners of the continent alongside his family and under the guidance of his grandfather, the legendary Ker & Downey guide Bob Cronchey. These years, filled with adventure and deep immersion in nature, laid the foundation for a lifelong passion for wilderness, conservation, and the thrill of exploration.

After completing a degree in International Business Management in the UK, Tom returned to Africa to follow his passion for conservation. He began his career in conservation, managing a luxury lodge in the Masai Mara, where he immersed himself in the ecosystem and built a profound knowledge of the land. He later trained with the African Guide Academy in Botswana, earning his FGASA Level 1 certification, and went on to complete his KSPGA qualification in Kenya.

Tom is a lifelong fisherman, equally at home casting flies on quiet English rivers as he is battling marlin offshore. Tom has developed a passion for game fishing; drawn to the challenge, power, and exhilaration of deep-sea angling. Tom’s time in the UK introduced the appreciation for fly fishing, casting lines for wild trout and grayling along the Test. It’s a practice he continues today, balancing the high-stakes chase of ocean giants with the focus demanded by traditional fly fishing.

Driven by a desire to share raw, authentic safari experiences, Tom founded Frontier & Fly, connecting avid anglers with the opportunities Kenya has to offer, in the wild places that shaped him. As Guide, he leads from the front, blending deep local knowledge with a lifelong passion for conservation and exploration. Tom brings this same spirit of adventure, dedication, and respect for nature to every aspect of his safaris: guiding clients in remote african bush or chasing fish across continents.

Henry Golesworthy - Co-Founder & UK Liason

Henry was raised in rural Britain, where his days were steeped in field sports, outdoor pursuits, and yearning for adventure. From an early age, he would rise before dawn, pour over OS maps, and plot his next exploration. Years later this desire to plan and see what is around the corner has not diminished.

Unable to sit still and determined to live an interesting life, Henry has pursued adventures across the continents: from the Australian outback to exploring the untamed vastness of South America. His mission? To help others experience the unrestricted adventure that shaped his own life.

Eschewing the monotony of corporate life, Henry pursued a degree in International Business Management and began building the tools to craft a life of meaning. This is where he met founder Tom and the seeds of Frontier & Fly was planted.

Today, Henry combines his deep love for fishing, field sports, and wild and remote places, with his global perspectives and client-first mindset. As a bespoke Safari Consultant, he specialises in turning clients' dreams into reality, with authenticity, and an unwavering respect for the natural world.
